On September 18th, China reported 990 new cases of COVID, down from 1,189 the day

According to the National Health Commission, on September 18th, China recorded 990 new cases of COVID-19, of which 147 presented with symptoms and 843 did not.

There were 1,189 new cases in China the day before, of which 154 were symptomatic, and 1,035 were asymptomatic illnesses.

The number of fatalities in the country remained at 5,226; on both days, there were none.

On September 18th, mainland China confirmed 248,326 cases.

No symptomatic or asymptomatic instances were reported in Beijing, China, yesterday, and today, according to official data.

According to official statistics for the previous day, Shanghai, a major financial center, reported no symptomatic and three asymptomatic instances locally.

Shenzhen, a central technology hub in southern China, reported zero newly-diagnosed cases of COVID-19 due to local transmission after a day in which the city had just two such points.

Local government data showed that in the southwestern metropolis of Chengdu, only two newly reported cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 were reported, down from five the day before. After several days of mandatory lockdowns, city life is slowly returning to normal.
