The casualty toll from a Russian missile strike on a Dnipro apartment building has increased to 44, according to the mayor of the central Ukrainian city.

“I’m present. Already 44 dead,” said Borys Filatov on Facebook.

Regional officials said Tuesday morning that a child’s corpse was among the most recent to be recovered from the wreckage.
